Dr. White has personally trialed many different laser machines and selected only the best of those for Metrotown Surgical Centre. You can chat with him about his experience using the various lasers; he had laser treatment on his face and neck and doesn't have to shave his beard anymore! He selected the Palomar Pulsed-Light System that has built-in cooling on the laser head which helps to minimize discomfort during and after the treatment for the best patient experience.

Dr. White also has a team of laser technicians that are certified to operate our FDA approved lasers. Your experience with laser hair removal will have as much to do with our technicians as with the laser itself.

Pulsed-light systems are very similar to traditional lasers, and remove hair in a similar way. However, the Palomar Pulsed Light Systems used by Dr. White remove hair up to ten times faster than regular lasers.

With Dr. White’s Palomar Pulsed-light laser, all skin types can be safely and comfortably treated - from dark pigment to fair complexion. The treatment is safe to be used on any body area, except around the eyes. Some popular treatment areas include the following:

Treatments are quick and easy. After some initial preparation, one of our trained technicians will move a wand-like handpiece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people would describe the sensation of the treatment as a "snapping" as though with an elastic band. As soon as the treatment is completed, you're ready to go! Total time will vary depending on the side of the area being treated; Dr. White can give you a specific time estimate during your consultation with him. However, the Palomar Pulsed-light Laser is generally faster than waxing or traditional lasers.

Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area for a short period after treatment. This sensitivity will not interfere with your normal activities, and will usually subside within a day. Dr. White can give you more information during your consultation, including some less likely side effects that may result from the treatment.
