  • Optimizing your health before surgery can improve healing, reduce complications, and enhance your overall results. Here are some key steps to take:

    • Maintain a healthy diet – Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins, and stay well-hydrated. Vitamin supplementation may also be beneficial.

    • Exercise regularly – Strengthening your muscles and staying active can support a smoother recovery.

    • Limit alcohol consumption – Keep intake to less than one standard drink per day.

    • Quit smoking and vaping – Completely stop smoking, vaping, and marijuana use at least 3 weeks before and 4 weeks after surgery (ideally longer) to support proper healing.

    • Stop certain supplements and medications – Avoid herbal supplements, vitamins, and fish oils at least 7 days before surgery, as they can increase bleeding. Also, discontinue any blood-thinning medications (such as Aspirin, Advil/ibuprofen, or warfarin) as advised by Dr. White.

Dr. Colin White provides personalized guidance to help you prepare for surgery. If you’re considering weight loss before your procedure, he can offer a tailored diet plan upon request. For more information or a consultation, contact our office today!

  • Wait times for MSP-covered procedures are determined by hospital scheduling and operating room (OR) availability. These timelines are managed by the hospital system and are not set by individual providers. We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated as soon as an OR date becomes available.
